The EDGE Model: Early Degrees, Gateway Credentials & Employment
EDGE is an innovative PreK–15 pathway that gives students earlier access to college, career credentials, and meaningful pathways to employment.
E — EARLY
Students gain access to advanced learning, college coursework, career exploration, and credential opportunities earlier in their educational journey.
D — DEGREES
Students can earn college credit and make progress toward certificates, associate degrees, and bachelor's degrees while still participating in the K–15 experience.
G — GATEWAY CREDENTIALS
Students earn industry-recognized certifications and credentials that serve as gateways to college, careers, and employment.
E — EMPLOYMENT
Students graduate with skills, credentials, experiences, and connections that can lead to employment, continued education, or both.
In partnership with colleges and universities, schools and/or districts provided a school experience with stronger support and less transitions.
Students should not have to wait until after high school to begin building their college and career future, give them the EDGE.
